Met up with 2 of my course mates in shanghai uni whose also from ntu. there's only 4 of us and one is on her way to shanghai. hopefully we can make more friends and get to interact with overseas students:

I noticed shanghai people love to drive volkswagen cars almost like seeing toyota in Singapore. very common.
we reached Shanghai UNi, spack in the middle of town. COOL! like SMU? the campus was beautiful, looks like those England universities. I would be mistaken I am in shanghai given the victorian buildings. Will post fotos soon!
we proceeded with our hostel and it was neat and best of all, MUCH BETTER than NTU hostels. looks like hotel and it is air-conditioned and big! here's where our study trip begins: and of coz, jacky stays alone in the single room.
Becoz of the town advantage, our uni is near many shops which means: SHOPPING! SHOPPING! SHOPPING!
haha have not really started though, we juz bought necessities and some things we need during our 3 weeks stay here. we decided to have a good decent meal nearby for only 55 yuan = S$11 and it's damn nice:

In Shanghai, the weather is so good. the people are rather fashionable as well. the buildings are really quite modern but best thing is the things here are DIRT CHEAP!
I woke up at 12pm and yeah got our internet connected in our room so I can chat with my goodie friends :) hehe then proceeded to 石门一路 to eat. the train line is so easy and accessible. seems easy to get around. we discovered 吴江路 which sells all the good cheap food! simply delighted we ate dumplings. so good! oichi! and we ate the chicken wings, check out our fotos along the street!
the shop names in china are really interesting. some of the funny names we came upon: pizza hut 必胜客 photocoping shop 有求必印 CD shop 必爱歌 cup noodles 开杯乐

we went to 南京路 from 人民广场 and alot of neon lights and really lots of shops but dunno y, no mood to shop so we juz walk thru the street and admire the lights.
