Just last week went to the alumni dinner and it was nice for all the marketing students cohort to gather and mingle in Grand Plaza Hotel.
The purpose was more of the alumni to share about their work experiences to us, to give us a better understanding of the workforce and prepare us to see which area we wish to go into.
It was a great dinner! I mean the food was good :P moreover, it was free. wahhaha. ok SERIOUSLY, it was good because I gain a greater insight after talking to the alumni.
I met alumni from WDA (Corp comms), Ogilvy and mather (Account Servicing), Singapore Tourism Board, Keppel, Pulley Ascents etc. They are very nice to explain how to prepare ourselves and to find out where our interests lie.
Cheryl from WDA explain this logic to me and I thought it was very meaningful, wanted to share with you all. "You are young and while you can run, run as much as you can, as fast as you can, faster than the rest. Until u are longer in the line, you don't to run as fast as before and let the others behind you run for you, catch up with you."
truly enlightening. she seems to be those really hardworking ones and told me sometimes working til late hours is a norm even during weekends.
I asked, is it worth it? and that was her reply. then I gain some interpretations through that.
It means that work hard now and gain the rewards later when you are in a higher position. or be it anything, it can be being an entrepreneur slogging your youth away and the results are rewarding at the end where you can sit back and relax.
Easier said than done but NO PAIN, NO GAIN!
SO your future is determined by your present doings.
how hard are you willing to fight for your future?
and we are not even talking about MONEY here...................... YET
