every continent in europe is so unique and special on it's own. so old and so real!
mind you, here is where civilisation begins. where human sciences, art, language flourish.
where else better can you get?
SO I went to the 1st stop Amsterdam:
holland cloak shoes!
and I found a very 'good' friend of mine...
hahahaha!
Sex museum
quite interesting though. Inside all PORNGRAPHIC. OF ALL RANGES. I feel even abit shy after walking around with guys around me.
SO i took the humour turn to take fotos and smile as sweet as I can. and laugh at the photograph. haha, I am here.
finally here in amsterdam - the world of sexuality, drugs.
nice to pose! kekeke
anyway, hope no kids are here.
you are NOT A KID are you?
my trip started off bad. We din noe that during weekends that trains railways will be on repair and instead of the normal 2.5hrs to amsterdam 1 route straight we have to take train, transit, bus, train again. it's so frustrating. we left at 9 and reached at 2pm.
can vomit blood!
then by the time we reached, ann frank's hse tickets sold out, last city tour bus left so we proceeded to van gogh museum.
taking one of these trams to the museum
Inside the tram. those 2 guys are the NEOS. daryl and derek - cousins who are with me on this exchange too. 1st appearance. welcome to my site! haha
Van Gogh's a classic I tell you. Vincent Van Vogh (1853 to 1890) yes, sadly he committed suicide with a shot in his head THEN got famous. THEN people started appreciating his work.
I ordered for audio guide at 4 euros and it was worth it. I really became artistic-appreciative. There's like a story behind every painting he did, every stroke means something. thats why he's so famous, his paintings are just different during his era and maybe even now, people just can't depict.
here's one of his famous sunflower painting.
seriously if I din have the audio guide, i wouldn't have known, have appreciated.
The special unique thing abt Vincent Van gogh is how he paints with his FEELINGS. whatever he feels at that moment is shown in his art. makes people drawn to him, understand what is going on his mind. yea, u can say his life is really depressing at some point that you can c in his stages of his work.
here's how one website describe the sunflower: " Upon looking at these paintings one begins to notice aspects that seem to flow from one piece to another. The colors are vibrant and express emotions typically associated with the life of sunflowers: bright yellows of the full bloom to arid browns of wilting and death; all of the stages woven through these polar opposites are presented. Perhaps this very technique is what draws one into the painting; the fulfillment of seeing all angles of the spectrum of life and in turn reaching a deeper understanding of how all living things are tied together."
he's also well known for the potato eater. it showed how peasants lived, eating on potatoes as their stable food.. dark and dirty. At his era, people drew paintings on realism and beauty. whereas, he loved to draw peasants because he want people to see his side of the world and he loved it.
alrite one painting enormously sad and impactful is his last painting before he shot himself in 1890:
Let me give my amateurish output - When I see this picture, I can almost felt his sorrow and even death. crows signify death and across a meadow of grass that has no flowers or even life. Look at the clouds. it's dark like storm is coming. noticed the strokes technique he have. long strokes. His other works have shorter strokes and more delicate and good rich mixed of colours but this to me, seems he is quite restless and feeling lost showing a path. And it's true, he was suffering from depression and not in the right mind.
wasted. another famous talented guy who din even noe he will be rich and famous. it's just sad.
ok let's move on, that's life.
When I enter amsterdam, it's like a total new area, land, air etc.
everything is so bustling and people everywhere! everyone is like in a rush. In maastricht, everyone is walking slow, relaxing breezy steps, strolling by the maas river with dog by the side. children laughter.
but in Amsterdam, I can only hear bus,car horns, ships sailing off. even the air is different. smoky. In Maastricht, air is cleaner, ducks, birds, green.
it's not all that bad really.
I enjoyed my canal ride!
the captain guide is so hilarious!
I must note them down here before I forget!
"There's many coffeeshops here but they dun sell coffee. you go in but you fly out" - coffeeshops are drugstores. haha
"amsterdam canals are changed regularly with new water so it doesn't stink. (very true! unlike singapore haha) then the dirty water (apparently the boat houses' waste goes to the canal) flows to the north sea. then the north sea flows to england. (hurhurhur) so when england water smells, you know amsterdam water is clean. (hhahahaha!!!! lol)"
beautiful evening sight of amsterdam by the canal river. check out the boat houses. I peeped in the interior and it's so cosy! apparently their bedrooms are below the surface of the water. they have so many boat houses!
amsterdam by night is so beautiful because their canals are lit up and there's so many entrance and exits and It's really astounding.
check out the canal after canal. a whole line of them.
to me, that's culture. that's aesthetic. holland beauty.
yea then it's like 7+ so we proceeded to the RED LIGHT DISTRICT. alot of good food! then daryl mentioned, why every red light district has so much good food like geylang? true ah! why?
AFTER SEX, NEED BOOSTER?
hehehe
just a joke. I am still naive and innocent.
:P
anyway, wat an eye opener. too bad no pics.
all the girls stand by a full length glass window with lumination light (wear white and blue light like glow-in-the-dark kind?) then bra and panties and using their eyes to seduce men to come in.
if a man wants, he open the door, ask the price, negotiate. done deal, man goes in, curtains close or another inside door close. do then come out.
how I noe? OBSERVE la
one sickening point was that in this small lane all the guys were eyeing on this window pros and the 2 NEOS also checked it out then i was like STUCKED in the middle of all the men coz they all stopped, jam break looking at the ger.
i was liKE HELLO?! CAN MOVE ANOT?! @!#$#$!%#
u noe in normal streets, i wun mind. but to be stuck in the middle of HORNIFIED MEN is disgusting and losing my patience.
I was like the only girl if I missed that out.
lucky it was just a few mins.
ok that sums up my amsterdam trip.
I will definitely go again in summer!!!!!!
I wanna so c TULIP FIELDS!!!!!!!!!!!!!! AND VOLENDAM (dutch ladies, cheese factory, windmills!!)
next up my paris trip. but im so tired now.
maybe later.
